For the last 11 years, the Austin Delts have been meeting for lunch once a month. While they call the group “The first Tuesday lunch group,” it’s very informal with no planned agenda. Any Delts in the Austin area are welcome to join them on the first Tuesday of every month at Nuevo Leons, 1501 E. 6th Street.
HOUSTON

The Delts in the Houston area have been meeting the first Tuesday of every month since 2004. There is usually a crowd of 25-50 from not only the University of Texas but other schools from across the state and country. They have periodic speakers address them. Otherwise, they enjoy keeping up with each other on Delt golf tournaments, Delt happy hours, and other events.

Monthly Delt alumni luncheons continue in Dallas on the third Tuesday of each month 11:30-1:00 at Ozona Grill, 4615 Greenville Ave., just east of I-75. The luncheons are open to Delts from all chapters, and there are usually good speakers at each luncheon. Past speakers include JC Penney CEO Mike Ullman, Cincinnati ’68; Pizza Hut President Scott Bergren, Northwestern ’68; Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance, Texas Tech ’65; Olympic Gold Medalist Thane Baker, Kansas State ’53; and former XTO Energy President Vaughn Vennerberg, Oklahoma State ’76.
